by Bentley continues to revive its famous models. This time, they plan to bring the famous 1952 Bentley R-Type Continental back into production. A batch of 12 cars will be released for the 70th anniversary of the model.
The modern Bentley R-Type Continental will exactly replicate the original coupe with a streamlined body designed by Mulliner. For this, the actual Bentley supercar will be disassembled into parts and their three-dimensional models will be created.
It should be noted that for its time, the Bentley R-Type Continental was indeed a supercar and one of the fastest cars in the world. Only 208 of these coupes were produced.
The car was equipped with inline six-cylinder engines of 4.6 liters (150 hp) and 4.8 liters (180 hp), and the more powerful version reached 193 km/h. At the same time, the Bentley R-Type Continental was comfortable, accommodating four adults inside.
By the way, this is not the first such novelty from the British. Earlier, they also released 12 supercharged Bentley 4 ½ Litre Blower 1929.
