It turns out that unmanned flying taxis are being developed not only in Japan and Dubai but also in Russia. However, the Russian version was not as successful and crashed during its first test flight.
The “Bartini” aerotaxi prototype was tested at the Skolkovo science center. It crashed into a snowbank as early as the fifth second of its flight. Developers explained the failure by saying that they “delayed too much between the last warm-up and the takeoff.”
The “Bartini” project is being developed to research the operation of air taxis in urban conditions and to prepare the infrastructure for their use.
The electric flying vehicle is expected to accelerate up to 250 km/h and rise to an altitude of 900 m. The cost of the flying taxi is 180,000 dollars.
