2027 Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio Updates
The Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio are already among the most distinctive GT cars on the market, and for 2027 they have become even more appealing. Thanks to an updated design and revised versions, they promise greater performance, and Maserati hopes this will help revive sales.
Exterior Changes and New Variants
Visually, the differences between the new GranTurismo and GranCabrio compared to the old models are obvious. Changes begin at the front: updated panels and new bumpers across the lineup, which now consists of three variants.
The most striking of these variants are the Trofeo models, equipped with more aggressive front and rear bumpers, special forged Pegaso wheels, and more exposed carbon fiber parts. The front bumper not only looks impressive but also improves cooling and aerodynamics.
Maserati has also equipped the GranTurismo and GranCabrio with new headlights and taillights, as well as a new grille. Somewhat unexpectedly, the fully electric Folgore models remain for 2027, featuring their own unique bumpers, wheels, copper badging, and illuminated side air intakes.
Power Enhancements
The base versions continue to use the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 Nettuno engine from the MC20, which now produces 483 hp and 600 Nm of torque. This provides a top speed of 300 km/h for the GranCabrio and 302 km/h for the GranTurismo. Those seeking more power can opt for the Trofeo, which features an enhanced version of the same engine delivering 582 hp and 620 Nm of torque, raising the top speed to 316 km/h in the GranCabrio and 320 km/h in the GranTurismo.
As for the Folgore versions, they continue to feature three electric motors, producing 751 hp and 1349 Nm of torque, working together with a 92.5 kWh battery pack. The top speed of the electric car is 290 km/h in the open-top version and 325 km/h in the hardtop version.
Those planning long trips in the new Maserati will likely choose one of the internal combustion engine versions, as the range of the Folgore models is limited to 401 km. However, this is about 32 km more than the previous version.
Colors and Interior
Buyers will be able to choose from seven additional body colors for the 2027 model year, including Green Jupiter Matte, Blu Denim, Bronze Lucido or Matte, Grigio Mistero, Rosso Velluto, and Oro Lirico. Inside, minor changes have been made, including a new sports steering wheel with a flat bottom and top, as well as an updated digital clock. The graphics on the three screens have also been updated.
The update of the GranTurismo and GranCabrio lineup is a strategic move by Maserati, aimed at increasing the appeal of the models amid declining sales. The retention of the electric Folgore version demonstrates the brand’s commitment to electrification, although the limited range may deter some buyers. At the same time, the significant power increase of the Trofeo version and the updated design are expected to attract enthusiasts who value performance and style. The expansion of the color palette and interior updates are also aimed at creating a more modern and personalized ownership experience.
