Mitsubishi Introduces Outlander Trail Edition for 2025
Manufacturers continue to experiment with “off-road” design, even if the actual capabilities of the vehicles do not always match the appearance. The Outlander Trail Edition is precisely such a case where style prevails over functionality.
Updated Design
The new version features additional plastic cladding on the wheel arches, bumpers, and doors, as well as black decals on the hood and sides. The manufacturer also added black elements on the mirrors, door handles, grille, and window trim.
This is the first “off-road” style package for the Outlander, aimed at buyers who lead an active lifestyle
Available options include a Thule Caprock cargo box, kayak or bicycle mounts, and exclusive 18-inch black wheels with Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail tires.
Technical Features
The interior is equipped with all-weather floor mats, faux leather and alcantara, heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a Yamaha audio system. However, mechanically the car remains unchanged – the same 2.5-liter engine, CVT, and S-AWC all-wheel drive system.
Interestingly, 2025 will be the last year for this engine version – in 2026, the Outlander will switch to a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine with a mild hybrid system. The starting price for the new model is $39,295, making it a competitor to models like the Nissan Rogue Rock Creek Edition and Subaru Forester Wilderness.
Despite its aggressive appearance, the Outlander Trail Edition remains an urban crossover with limited capabilities for true off-roading. However, for those who value style over functionality, this version could be an interesting option.
