New G-Wagens for the State Emergency Service Turned Out to Be Humanitarian Aid (Photo)

The other day, two new Mercedes-Benz G-Class vehicles were spotted on the roads of Ukraine with license plates belonging to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The approximate cost of each such vehicle reaches 250 thousand dollars, so questions immediately appeared on social networks: why do rescuers need such expensive equipment?

As it turned out, these off-road vehicles were transferred to Ukraine as humanitarian aid. They were not purchased with budget funds but were received at the disposal of the rapid response units of the State Emergency Service.

The “G-Wagens” are used for clearing debris, rescue operations, and evacuating people in extremely difficult conditions, particularly where other equipment simply cannot pass. Thanks to their high off-road capability and reliability, these vehicles are able to reach the most hard-to-reach areas even after shelling or natural disasters.
