Updated Jeep Grand Wagoneer: What’s New?
Jeep has announced an updated version of the Grand Wagoneer, which will be released in the fall of this year. Key changes include a completely new front-end design inspired by the Wagoneer S model. The vehicle has received a minimalist grille with seven openings and integrated LED lighting, as well as narrower headlights with horizontal daytime running lights.
The changes also affected the bumper – it has become more aggressive, with a larger air intake and new lighting elements reminiscent of Volvo’s design. A charging port is also noticeable on the front fender, indicating the possibility of a hybrid Grand Wagoneer 4xe version.
Technical Updates
The hybrid version is expected to receive a powertrain similar to the Ram 1500 Ramcharger: a 3.6-liter V6 engine, a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, and a battery with a capacity of about 92 kWh. This configuration provides 663 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, as well as a range of up to 690 miles.
For those not ready for electric vehicles, the familiar 3.0-liter twin-turbo gasoline engine will remain, producing 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque.
“We are optimistic about the future of our full-size SUVs,” said Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf.
Despite the Grand Wagoneer’s not very successful start, the company plans further development of the lineup. For example, an update to the standard Wagoneer version is expected shortly after the flagship, and the difference between the two models may become more noticeable.
Jeep is also preparing three more new products by the end of the year, including updated Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. However, the Grand Wagoneer remains the main focus, demonstrating the brand’s new approach to design and technology.
